MCP - Motor Carrier Permit
The Motor Carrier Permit is required for anyone who is operating with a USDOT number that is based in California. Some out-of-state carriers must also obtain the Motor Carrier Permit and a CA number to operate point-to-point in California.
The MCP contains information specific to the motor carrier and is issued to the motor carrier as evidence the carrier has registered their CA number with the DMV. Additionally, the MCP verifies the motor carrier has met all statutory requirements to commercially operate motor vehicles on California's highways.
Upon checkout you will be sent an email requesting the necessary information. Once we receive the required information back from you, we’ll submit the application to the MCP division. Please be aware that the average MCP filing takes 4-6 weeks to be processed once we submit the application.
NOTICE: An active CA number is required before applying for a Motor Carrier Permit. If you do not yet have one, click HERE.
